What our customers say about us...

Groff Funeral Home

My name is Kyle Brubaker. I'm from Groff Funeral Homes in Sandusky, Ohio.

What we used to do would have a metal stand standing behind me with a eight and a half by 11 and a half sheet of paper with the deceased name on it and their information and things like that. Kind of our thinking was we knew there had to be something else out there. We just didn't know what it was and we just didn't think that was good enough for our family. So we started doing a little research online.

We came across FuneralScreen. So this was actually the first company and frankly the only one we came across that offered something like this. And when we started digging into what they offered, how it was going to work and things like that, we didn't really see that it was necessary to go anywhere else because we just thought it was a dynamite program and something we wanted to get into our funeral home as soon as we could.

Right now we're using three screens. I'm thinking behind the three screens is we have two entrances in the funeral home. And any time someone came into our funeral home for a visitation or funeral service, we wanted them to know that they were in the right spot. You know, the person they're looking for is here the visitations are in Parlor A or Parlor B. So no matter what entrance they came in, they automatically knew they were in the right spot and they saw a photo of the deceased and some personalization and already got the feeling and kind of the good vibes going for personalization of that service.

And we also have our third one, the landscape feature. So it looks a little more like a TV. We have that in our lounge where we have our Starbucks coffee and hot chocolate tea and everything like that, because we find a lot of people gathering there. And the thinking behind that was, is we have a lot of different branches in our company and we wanted to be able to show that to people. So we have different divisions of our company. We have a different slide for each one and that cycles through. On that third screen.

It kind of fell on my shoulders as far as learning the program and everything like that and the basic stuff, the stuff that you do for your families, the visitation and things like that, it's very easy to pick up on. The main thing you have to do is learn the terminology and if you have any questions. The people at FuneralScreen were very, very helpful. Any time we called, they were able to answer our questions and once you get the template set up, it's extremely easy to use. We have someone who's been here for 2 to 3 weeks and she already knows how to how to change it for a new visitation. And she does a great job at it. And once you have those templates set up, almost anyone can do it. It's very easy.

We're really trying to push the envelope with the functionality of this program, and to this day, it hasn't let us down.

Customer Case Study

"The photograph is very powerful when people come. You'll see a widow come in the door and she'll see her husband's picture up and automatically breaks down and cries. It becomes part of the healing process. It releases them a little bit before they go into the room and spend time with their loved ones. It works to break the ice from the moment they walk into the door."

Customer Case Study

"I've learned that during calling hours - especially with older people or the parents of younger children that when they walk in and they see their loved-one on the screen like that they cry right away. It's impactful as opposed to seeing faded white letters on a board that are crooked."
